Asmir Begovic completed a deadline day transfer from AFC Bourenmouth to Qarabag of the Azerbaijani  Premier League. The Bosnian- Canadian goalkeeper forged a very good reputaton in the Premier League during his times with Portsmouth and Stoke City before signing for Chelsea for nearly £10m in the summer of 2015. Due to the emergence of Thibault Cortois as one of the worlds best, his time at Stamford Bridge was mainly limited to the bench untill Eddie Howe’s Bourenmouth completed his purchase two years later for a similar cost of around £10m. He made 70 appearances for the Cherries but found himself down the pecking order this season, so has opted to take up the option of a loan to the Azeri champions untill January.

Kick Off Management have forged an excellent partnership in Azerbaijan with Qarabag and we hope to be involved in more transfers both into and out of the club in the near future. We thank the representatives of Asmir in helping to facilitate this move and hopefully this can mark the start of a new chapter in the career of Asmir.
